How to Screenshot on Mac and PC (Every Method Explained)
Need to capture your screen? Here is every screenshot method for Mac, Windows, Chromebook, and mobile devices.
Mac Screenshots
Command + Shift + 3 captures the entire screen. Command + Shift + 4 lets you select an area. Command + Shift + 4 then Space captures a specific window. Command + Shift + 5 opens the screenshot toolbar with options for screen recording too. All screenshots save to the desktop by default.
Windows Screenshots
Windows + Shift + S opens the Snipping Tool to select an area (saves to clipboard). Windows + Print Screen captures the full screen and saves to Pictures and Screenshots folder. Alt + Print Screen captures only the active window. The Snipping Tool app offers timed screenshots and annotation.
Mobile Screenshots
iPhone: press Side button + Volume Up simultaneously. Android: press Power + Volume Down simultaneously. Both save to your Photos app. On newer iPhones you can also tap the back of the phone twice if Back Tap is enabled in Accessibility settings.
